Fall Back
WARNING: this is a low tech entry. No spellcheck, no grammar check, just my humanly flawed thinking and typing.
Continuing on my DIY MFA with researching two art movements. One is Expressionism or German Expressionism. I don't know what it is with my attraction towards German artists. One of my first was Durer. Who doesn't like a good realistic engraving. More recently I'm into Geihart Ricketer. I Discoverd his painting during a visit to the Milwaukee art museum. During my research I also discoverd a Expressionist Ludwig Meidner. I saw his painting at Milwaukee as well and found it again during my reading about Expressionism. I enjoy the emotional impact of his portraits. Lots of drama. Expressionism focuses on internal emotions and rejects realism in art by distorting objects and lets the paint be paint - not hiding the brushstrokes. One group in Expressionism was called The Bridge (Die Brucke) symbolizing a bridge connecting the past, present, and a radical future. Their future was to be labeled 'deginerates' by the Nazis.
I'm thinking of the second art movement to research. I may choose something ancient or what's happening now. May choose something I'm not familiar with or don't have an affinity to learning something new, gain a new insight.
For a variety of reasons I haven't painted/created art for over a month. I struggle with forcing myself to do art to keep practice because i'm more an 'inspirational' artist -- I like to bee in the mood otherwise the outcome is not great. I'ts not all great/good when I am 'inspried' to create.
I'm also a lot sloppier than i'd like to be. I seem to dirty every dish, cup and brush I have when I get going. I wouldn't mind if i had an apprentance to clean up after me.

I hope you've been able to following my thoughts and poor spelling. Thanks for hanging with me. Here are some recent attempts at art.

grazie mille - 7Hamilton
