I’ve decided to step back and embrace a more personal approach to sharing my art. I'm an old guy so I'm more comfortable with newsletters. I've taken a pause which may be permanent on social media. So, welcome to my blog/newsletter! This is my first attempt at reaching out to you that already know me and have expressed an interest in my art. I'm maintaining an email list of mostly friends and family. I plan to share 3 to 4 posts each year. Mostly just pictures and captions of my art from the past couple of months. No need to "like" or "share", just my way of keeping in touch.

If you don't want to get this in the future, just reply and I'll take action.

This is what's happened over the summer and what I'm thinking.

  • I'm thinking of having another one-man art show in April 2026.

Quisp

Reworking an old painting. Wasn't satisfied with it. Trying to push it further and have it say more.

Big Flower

Mostly finished this large canvas of a hibiscus flower for my FIL. I learned how to make better reds studying Sargent and Velázquez.

Kelpies

Thanks to my good friends Dave & Chrissie for the commission to paint a series of Kelpies.

Yard Art

I got tired of tripping over and not knowing what to do with some wood scraps from a failed yard bridge I tried to make. So I thought I'd try to make some art from it. Here are my first couple of attempts.

Title: Stumbling Man. Inspired from the fall I took running and skipping to an art show in D.C.

Wrapping Up

Thanks for your interest in my art. Maybe I'm one and done with this Blog but maybe there will be another. Either way, peace and love.
